Where is your shop? I’m here on S.E. 65th and Foster and don’t see it.
The answer is we are a production shop, not a walk in retail shop, but we are near by. We don’t post our exact address and instead allow customers to pick up orders via curbside service near S.E. 65th and Foster in Portland, Oregon.
Customers can order Local Pickup on our website, and we will promptly contact you by phone and email to arrange a pick up time at our production shop, usually the same day. You can also call in to order with custom requests. And also make appointments to see our boards and/or try out demo boards.

The owner Robin also teaches Private Lessons and classes for skateboarding and longboarding in the Portland area. He has a superior knowledge of how to ride safely downhill and for transportation including instructing how to slow down and stop. He can assist in gear and make great recommendations for you or for someone you know. He’s always happy to help and will even give free advice and riding tips on the phone and in person.
How do I choose a longboard skateboard?
The answer to this question starts with who is it for?
Is the person new to skateboarding or a beginner?
What kind of riding do you want to do? Transportation? Short distance such as from home to the store, work , or school? Long distance, more than a mile or two. Learn to downhill with speed. Learn to slide and slow down using slide gloves. Or something in between you can get around town on and be stable on mellow downhill sections. If you want the later here, we would recommend our most popular board called The Tabor.
What is the difference between a longboard and a regular skateboard?
Longboards are bigger in every direction and easier to learn to skateboard on because they are equipped with bigger softer wheels that glide longer. They also are equipped with bigger wider trucks that turn better and are more stable, especially at more speed. All together having a longboard with longboard trucks and wheels is like a monster truck skateboard that is more suitable for beginner skateboarders. They excel at transportation and downhill and much easier to ride around town than a regular skateboard.
However they are not as good a learning tricks like the ollie or riding in the skatepark. Regular skateboards are better for that as they are smaller with more bends at the board for the ends called kicktails. Also they have smaller harder wheels that are better for really smooth surfaces like skateparks. However they don’t roll over sidewalks and on roads very well, which forces the rider to have to push more than riding. Thus this is why riding a longboard is much more advantagous to get around outside the skatepark than a regular skateboard. Plus when learning to skateboard being able to push only a few times and then ride with both feet on the board for a long while allows for quicker progression. Learning to turn and maneuver is much easy when their is more room on the board to stand with a wider stance, better trucks that turn better and are more stable, and wheels that roll over bumps and cracks. In conclusion riding a longboard around town, down hills, and outside the skatepark in general makes more sense and is a lot more fun!
